The Coho Rings
Also known as the Silver Salmon, these fish and many other salmon species will make their annual migration upstream to reproduce and continue the life cycle. These fish have a very precise way of returning back to their natal rivers, often returning back to the exact spawning ground of their birth. They swim the long trek upstream from the oceans, fighting the currents to the upper reaches of the rivers. Here they will spawn in the gravel of the creeks, simultaneously ending their life while starting the next generation. It's both a stunning display of tenacity and determination while also being incredibly sad, but anthropomorphizing the situation is just the human thing to do. Their strength and determination should be applauded, as these fish have to swim against the strongest of river currents, jumping falls and fighting rapids, all while avoiding the predators trying to find their next meal. This is the spirit that I've tried to encapsulate within these rings, to know that there is so much strength within you to get you through even the most grueling circumstances. You will always find inspiration in nature.
