The gem Owyhee jasper in this cuff reminded me of hot valleys and high plateaus, of deep canyon walls carved by running rivers. These canyons are teeming with life both above and below, every inch of space is utilized by a critter or plant of some sort. On the front of the cuff, a hawk soars high above the cliff walls, gliding upon the winds as she makes her way back to the nest. A snake slithers around pokey cacti, keeping cool in the shade between the rocks. On the backside, a sneaky hare darts through the shrubs and low lying hills, escaping watchful eyes. The sun beams hot in the sky, rays of warm light illuminating the sandy earth below. 

The backside has been stamped with LOOK UP, a reminder to see the beauty around you, to keep your eyes up off your feet and embrace the earth right before your eyes.
